Me and Greg...

Me and Greg…

I live with my partner Greg which is fun sometimes.

He doesn’t like music, iTunes or Bang & Olufsen but he does like cats which is quite lucky as we have 2 and he really hates Jessie J.

We all live happily ever after...

We all live happily ever after…

We live in a village called Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Alford is home of Emeli Sande & birthplace of the Aberdeen Angus cow.

Our two cats are called Bingo Disco.

  1. I’d say this combination makes for interesting conversations. I love your taste in sound systems. I dream of the day when I am grown up enough to know someone rich enough to afford Bang & Olufsen. In the meantime, I tantalise myself with drooling over their products whenever I can.

  3. New to WordPress but hope I’ll get to know it better.

Your photos are the kind of thing I’d like to take… but probably never will (lack of application, unwillingness to go out when it’s cold, not knowing my camera well enough…)

    (You like cats don’t you…?!)

  4. You had me when you said you like Doctor Who! It’s fun and I like the simpleness of it. At the end of the day we all have to be ourselves and I like that it’s coming out about you. Take care.

  5. I love your blog! I love the way you described your and your partners likes and dislikes. I love music and ITunes too so we have that in common. I disagree about Jessie J. I’m not a huge fan but I like her song Domino and she seems like a nice girl. I just started my own blog and seeing how well done your blog is inspired me to work on mine. :)

  7. I love your intro page!

On Bang&Olufsen: it’s so funny how I did a case study on that in my first innovation management class (5 weeks ago) and now I see it everywhere! I’ve never heard of it before, but now, it pops up in stores, on my friend’s ears, on blog(s)…

On Scotland: I’ve never been but I would love to go for a weekend with my boyfriend to Edinburgh for a concert in Glasgow in May (easyjet doesn’t fly to Glasgow…). I hear Scotland is a beautiful place- any suggestions on which places to hit? Also, do you have a delightful Scottish accent?

On Music: Ooooh I just went over to your music section.. I like what I’m seeing and I’ll defo take a better look when it’s not midnight.

I’m glad I stumbled onto your blog through Suzie81 and happy writing!

    • Thanks for stopping by and glad you like. Music, photos and randomness is kind of the theme. Aberdeen is a nice place to visit I suppose…. I kind of have a generic Scottish accent :)

  8. Hi Steve, it’s a lovely about page you have here ;-)

Found you from Suzie81’s blog, and congrats for winning her contest. I also followed you on twitter.

This is the admin account for a blog I edit. You can find the photos and whatnot to prove I’m a real person on the sidebar of my writing blog http://gno112.wordpress.com

    Cheers!

  9. Hi Steve!

I found your blog through the Community Pool and was happy to see it was an IT person explaining things in plain English. Then I find posts about your kitties…that clinched it for me! You have a new follower now. :)

p.s. I like and miss the drop down text menus… Oops, just aged myself there, didn’t I? Lol. :)

  10. Hi Steve,

I wondered if I could pick your brain for a minute? I’d try the WordPress Support Forum, but I really hate going there. Some of the volunteers that are the most active responding, are also the least helpful and often rude.

When I view – from my android phone, though I *think* it’s the from my Windows 7 desktop – your Homepage, as well as those of many others I follow, depending on their theme – are two horizontal, rectangular “buttons.” (Directly below the black horizonal bar where the “Follow” and “Reblog” options are located, but above the blog banner.)

The left rectangle takes up about 60% of the screens horizontal space, and is where I would normally click to bring up your site’s menu. The right hand side of the 40% remaining horizontal space, is a Search box that allows one to search for other posts and/or blogs across the entire WordPress community.

Sorry, I’m very tired at the moment and am not explaining things terribly well. Sigh, please bear with me.

To be more precise, the above two “rectangles,” are really just one thick blue bar running from one side of the screen to the other, broken into two smaller sections by a smal vertical line and slightly differing shade of blue. A magnifier icon is in the Search box.

What I specifically interested in is getting a search button (field or whatever it’s called) for my blog. I have enabled the widget that let’s people search my blog in a bottom sidebar. And I know many themes appear altered when viewed on smaller devices like smartphone or tablet.

But I’ve tried a few different themes and still can’t get that Search function to show up anywhere.

Would you have any idea how to fix this? I’d be beyond grateful for any assistsnce you could offer. I know you said you don’t know much about android, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask. :)

No need to rush with your reply, I’m shutting down soon for a nap attack. (Didn’t sleep last night.) :) :)
