Spread The #BlogLove…

I love reading other people’s posts on their blogs as much as I enjoy writing my own. However, I don’t always find the time to read as much of them as I would like to so I would like to “pay it forward” in another way…

A fellow blogger Russell Ray Photos told me what he does is “camp” out on people’s blogs for a period of time and read over all the old posts and this gave me an idea and I came up with the “Spread the #BlogLove..” feature.

Every so often I will share out one of the blogs I follow and why I like it so much.

Suzie81 Says…sorry I meant Suzie81 Speaks

So, I want to share some Blog Love to…Suzie81 Speaks.

Suzie has recently purchased her very own domain name suzie81speaks.com which is really cool. I’m sure she actually wanted suziesays.com but was too worried I would have accused her of copying steve-says.net. Only joking Suzie – yours is a dotcom whereas my one is its much poorer cousin dotnet so I am not worthy.

There are many reasons I like her blog but I think it’s very much the case that she is very similar to myself. This is how she describes herself…

“I’m a thirty – two year old teacher from England. I live with The Bloke, a very patient man who has been my partner-in-crime for the last four years, and our three cats. I like my job, I like my life and I am gradually figuring out what I should be doing with my time!”

and me…

“I’m a thirty – five year old IT Trainer from Scotland. I live with Greg, a not-so patient man who has been my partner-in-crime for the last eight years, and our two cats. I like my job, I like my life and I am gradually figuring out what I should be doing with my time!”

I’ve not been blogging for long and at the start of the year when I was looking for lots of hints and tips, Suzie appeared to me with exactly all the advice I needed. So for all new bloggers I would really recommend looking at her Blogging Tips category.

When she writes posts such as Twelve Childhood Things That I Miss I can really relate to them, she has a great writing style that is so easy to read it’s like I actually know her. She’s just learned how to include animated GIFs in her posts and her choices really crack me up…

Her blog design itself is, and this is by no means intended to offend, so simple and it just lets the posts speak for themselves. Quite often I see blogs that are cluttered with badges, awards and irritating backgrounds. I don’t think there is any need for that personally.

Suzie has achieved something that I always hope to achieve every single time I start writing a post – Freshly Pressed. Congratulations on that and I’m sure I will get there one day…

I’ve recently became a Twitterer…Tweeter….Twat…? Suzie has encouraged me to keep on with that by favouriting some of my tweets.

She has her own opinions that she’s not afraid to share and she shares them with a good balance of humour and seriousness.

Thanks Suzie – I look forward to continuing to read your blog!

  1. Ah Steve! You have great taste! Suzie was one of the first bloggers I followed when I started and I really enjoy her blog – this is a great feature. And the commonalities between your descriptions made me smile🙂

  2. I found Suzie’s very helpful words of advice for new blogs at the beginning of the year as well! She runs a fantastic blog. Thanks for this great post highlighting her and now I have another blog in you to follow as well! ~Best Julie

  3. Two of my newest (to me) favorite posters in one place…awesome!

The WP app and site are being weird, it shows I am not following people when I am, or I have to refollow some altogether. Frustrating.

  4. Awww that’s so sweet!! Suzie’s was probably the first blog I ever commented on when I started blogging back in July 2013, because I saw that she only started in April the same year and has done such a great job of reaching out to so many readers! She’s certainly a star in the blogging community and you are awesome for pointing it out!
